I’ve been taking a mental health week every couple of months and people always ask me what I do during that time.

The answer is… whatever I need.

Sometimes that looks like catching up on business things that have been sitting on the back burner. Sometimes it’s deep cleaning my house, spending time with my husband, or finally making the doctor’s appointment I’ve been putting off for months.

The point isn’t what I’m doing.

The point is that, for one week, I get to step out of the endless loop of a routine I didn’t even realize I committed to.

I get to stop asking what everyone else needs from me and ask myself what I need for once.

I think so many of us have gotten really good at surviving. Showing up. Getting it done. Being dependable. Being the one everyone can count on.

But somewhere along the way, we stopped checking in with ourselves.

I’m learning that taking care of myself isn’t something I earn after I’ve taken care of everyone else. It’s part of how I’m able to keep showing up the way I do.

Every time I take one of these weeks, I come back a little more grounded, a little more creative, and a little more like myself.

I’m actually on one right now, not because I’m burnt out.
Because I’ve learned I don’t have to wait until I am.

I’m building a life that doesn’t require escaping from it every few months.

One that already has room for me in it❤️‍🔥

Yes, the mirror is dirty.

Anyways…

I used to dream about having hair like this.

And I don’t mean that in a dramatic way. I mean I genuinely never thought my hair could look like this.

When I started my hair journey back in 2020, I didn’t even know I had curly hair. I knew it had some wave to it, but that’s about it. I grew up in a culture and a family where curls weren’t really celebrated. Hair was supposed to be tamed, straightened, controlled… not embraced.

Now I catch myself playing with my curls in the mirror, and when I’m at family gatherings everyone asks, “How did you get your hair like that?”

What they don’t see are the years it took to get here.

The consistency. The regular haircuts. Learning what my hair actually needed. Sleeping in a bonnet religiously. Trying products until I found ones that worked for me. Learning to work with my hair instead of constantly wishing it was someone else’s.

If you would’ve shown me this version of my hair six years ago, I would’ve thought you were lying.

I think that’s why I’m so grateful for it now.

Not because it’s perfect, but because it’s mine. And because I spent years learning to love something I was taught to tame.

Your dream hair isn’t something you find. It’s something that’s been growing out of your head the whole time, just waiting for you to meet it & embrace it❤️‍🔥

I think a lot of women are secretly exhausted from constantly having to be “on”

The strong friend.
The dependable one.
The creative.
The business owner.
The mom.
The partner.
The person everyone calls when they need something.

& somewhere in the middle of constantly pouring into everybody else… they slowly lost touch with themselves.

Not in a dramatic way. Just slowly chipping away parts of you until they don’t recognize themselves anymore.

They stopped resting. Stopped creating. Stopped romanticizing life. Stopped feeling inspired. Stopped feeling connected to who they actually are outside of survival mode.

I’ve been there, baddie. & that’s where the vision for MINDBODYBAG started.

After attending a retreat for high-performing women last September, I realized something.. women don’t just need rest.

They need space to reconnect with themselves creatively too.

Not just a retreat or a mastermind. Def not just a girls trip.

An intentional experience for the woman who wants to rest, heal, create, laugh, cry, reconnect, romanticize her life again & feel inspired by who she’s becoming.

Every detail of this weekend has been intentional from the conversations, the workshops, the content creation (bc duh it’s me), the meals, the slow mornings, the poolside chats & DEEP conversations at 2am. The girlhood of it all.

Bc in order to TRULY heal…You have to reconnect with the little girl in you.

This retreat isn’t about weird, influencer energy, there won’t be any pressure to perform any type of way & you DEFINITELY don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not.

It’s about women reconnecting with themselves together.

& maybe that’s the best way I can explain what MINDBODYBAG really is.

This retreat is not about escaping your life. It’s about reconnecting to yourself enough to actually live it again.

There are currently 5 spots left 🤍

If you’ve been quietly feeling emotionally pulled toward this experience every time I post about it, I invite you to DM me.

I’m more than happy to answer questions, talk through it with you, & help you decide if this is the right room for you.

& if it’s not, that’s okay too 🤍

This won’t be the last room I create.

One of my favorite hacks for effortless cateye lashes without getting lash extensions.

Unfortunately, after getting lash extensions for 4+ years, my eyes developed a sensitivity to the glue and I started getting a really bad allergic reactions so I have had to get creative on how to enhance my eyes.

I really love these lash clusters that I got off Amazon (linked in my storefront). They are self adhesive lash clusters so I don’t have to worry about glue or the weight of a falsie strip lash.

if I genuinely try, I can probably keep these on for 3 to 5 days, but I usually pull them off after day two!

Maybe one day I can bring my lash extensions back, but for now this hack has been holding me over.

Try it out and let me know how you like it, baddie❤️‍🔥

Community really healed me

I don’t mean that in a pick-me girl kind of way. I mean that in the deepest, most life changing way possible.

For a long time, I tried so hard to fit into spaces that looked beautiful on the outside but never truly poured back into me in the ways I needed. Big rooms. Big promises. Big energy. Yet somehow I still felt unseen.

So instead of continuing to search for the kind of community I needed… I started creating it.

Over the last year, these smaller, intentional rooms have changed my life. Women coming together not to perform or compete, but to feel understood.

Women who are carrying a lot. Women who are leading a lot. Women who wear a hundred different hats and still convince themselves they need to handle everything alone.

I know those women because I am one.

That’s why I created the Mind Body Bag retreat in Maitland, FL✨

An intentional experience for women who are ready to reconnect with themselves again. A place to unplug from the pressure, step away from daily responsibilities for a moment, and pour back into the woman who has been carrying everyone else.

Because your business matters. Your goals matter. Your bag matters.

But none of it means anything if you are running on empty.

This retreat is about healing your mind, reconnecting to your body, and creating a life that allows the bag to flow with more ease because you are finally aligned with yourself again.

And the beautiful thing is… you don’t have to do it alone.

Community is what healed me, and maybe it’s the thing that heals you too❤️‍🩹

If this resonated with you, I would love to invite you into this experience with me next month. The details are in the link in my bio, and my DMs are always open if you have questions or simply want to connect.

And if the retreat isn’t aligned for you right now, that’s okay too. There are still so many ways to become part of the community we’re building, including our one year anniversary celebration happening THIS Saturday.

You were never meant to carry it all alone. 🤍

Hot topic incoming… I’ve seen this consistently for the past 8 years behind the chair. I promise you, they don’t care about your hair health at the Dominican salon regardless of how laid your blowout is.

There’s gonna be one point, where your hair has had enough & will not revert back!! Not worth it imo 🤷🏽‍♀️

One of my most requested services for my curly girls lately has been the KCTexture Treatment by , especially for the girls looking for more manageable, low maintenance curls without losing the natural beauty of their hair.

If you constantly feel like your hair takes forever to style, your frizz is out of control, your wash days are exhausting, or you just don’t have the time to be fighting with your hair every morning… this treatment might genuinely change the game for you.

& the best part??? It lasts up to 3 months!

A lot of my moms especially LOVE this treatment because it cuts down drying and styling time significantly while helping reduce frizz, improve manageability, and make your curls feel softer and easier to work with overall.

No, this is not about “getting rid” of your curls. Y’all know we love natural hair over here. 🤍

It’s about making your curls work with your lifestyle instead of against it.

Whether you wear your hair curly most of the time, diffuse regularly, or like having the flexibility to blow it out smoother with less effort, the KC Texture Treatment helps make your routine feel way less overwhelming.

The only thing I will say with summertime coming up is to be mindful if you’re planning on living your best mermaid life all summer long 🌊🤣 Frequent swimming, salt water, chlorine, and constant sun exposure can affect the longevity of the treatment, so that’s definitely something we’ll talk about during your consultation.

But for my busy girls that want softer, easier, more manageable curls without spending hours doing their hair every week? This service is truly THAT girl.

And honestly… anything that helps you love your natural hair a little easier is always the goal for me. ✨

Book your KCTexture Treatment today.
