Help us raise $5,000 for q***r and trans youth in Portland!
You could win one of three soap prizes just for participating:
🧼 20 bars of soap from Optimistic Soap
🧼 10 bars of soap from Clover Soapworks
🧼 Another package of 10 bars of soap from Clover Soapworks

Every $10 donation gets you another chance to win (a $50 donation = 5 chances; a $100 donation = 10 chances)!

Link in both our bios to the fundraising page to donate or learn more!

Both Nathan (Clover Soapworks) and Molly (Optimistic Soap) believe passionately in supporting the q***r community, and New Avenues for Youth is doing just that.

Through programs like the Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) in downtown Portland and culturally-tailored case management services throughout the organization, they ensure young people have the resources and relationships they need to grow and succeed.

Every entry helps a kid feel safe. Thank you

Clover Soapworks (Nathan) and Optimistic Soap (Molly) are not bitter rivals — despite what the video might suggest (we kept on dissolving into fits of giggles as we filmed).

Quick explainer: the “Number 2” and “Number 4” thing comes from Feedspot’s Top Soap Influencers list. Nathan’s currently sitting at #2 and Molly’s crept up to #4.

They’ve been admiring each other’s working and rooting for each other for years (even purchasing from each other when the last thing their households needed was more soap).

They firmly believe that community over competition isn’t just a nice phrase.

There’s room for all of us and, honestly, it’s just more fun to cheer each other on.

And finally! They’ve combined their passions for a collaboration that should help a whole lot of marginalized youth and which might put some of you, our followers, in possession of some very lovely prizes.

We’re not ready for the big reveal just yet. That will happen this weekend. Please follow us so you don’t miss anything!

I wouldn’t want to be known as someone who crows about someone’s death.
But it would be dishonest to pretend to grieve someone who spent years actively bolstering an administration that is harming people daily — immigrants, trans people, the rule of law itself.
His family is mourning and that’s real, and it matters, regardless of how I feel about his voting record.
But this is someone who used their power to directly harm people I love and that harm will continue for years to come.
So there I am definitely feeling some relief.
And the idea that death always comes in threes? I can’t help but admit that this has me thinking…🤔
How are you feeling about today’s news? Tell me in the comments. Is it just me feeling complicated feelings?
