Co-Creating Solutions Through Hypnosis, Somatic Integration & Bodywork. Tools To Find Inner Resonanc

If you could use one thing to anchor a few quiet minutes, what would it be?

A color? A place? The weight of your hands? The hum of a fan?

Some people need a picture. Others do better with a sound or a line on an index card. Each one is a different door into the same routine.

Tell me yours in the comments. I'd like to know which one you reach for first.

If more evidence were the answer, the degrees and promotions would have settled this by now. The feeling answers to something else, and that is where the work goes.

10/21/2026

You've collected the degrees, the promotions, the good reviews. Why does the fraud feeling still show up in the meeting?

Plenty of people understand exactly why they feel it, and it still doesn't move. Understanding and changing are two different things.

Where does it show up for you?

You tried self-hypnosis once, and nothing happened?

That is the most common thing I hear about it. People expect a wave of calm, a visible shift, some proof it is working. Most tries don't produce that.

An uneventful try is still practice.

Here is the small version you can do today. Pick one anchor: a color, the weight of your hands, a fan, your breath, or a line on an index card. Settle your attention on it a little longer than feels necessary. Give yourself one short direction, like walking into the meeting or making the call. Let your focus drift. Then come back on purpose.

If your mind wanders, notice where it went and return to the anchor. If it keeps wandering, end the try and come back another time. Stopping early has no penalty.

One safety note: never practice while driving, operating equipment, or anywhere you need to stay alert. If it ever becomes distressing, stop and get support.

When you tried it before, what did you expect to happen, and what actually did?

You did the work. The degree, the promotion, the project that went well. And the feeling that you're about to be found out is still there. 🙂

That's more common than you'd think, and the usual advice rarely fixes it. "Own your success" argues with the wrong part of you. One part says you're capable. Another part holds a long record saying otherwise.

Here's what I see in it. When a win lands, a discounting reflex often labels it luck or timing before it registers. For many people that reflex started as a way to keep other people's expectations low and social stress down. It worked, so it stayed.

You can win the argument on paper and still lose it in your body.

And sometimes the outsider feeling is accurate. In a biased room, it's an accurate read of the room. Even then, how you carry yourself in that room changes what happens in it.

A simple check: when is the feeling strongest? Where you're really treated unfairly, or in rooms where the evidence is on your side and people are supportive? 💛

When a win lands for you, what's the first thing your head says?

After facilitating over 600 anxiety sessions in the last three years, I keep seeing the same thing.

Almost everyone who comes in already understands their anxiety. They can tell me exactly when it started and what sets it off.

What they haven't been able to do is change how they react to it. That's the actual gap.

The research backs this up too. A 2019 review of 17 clinical trials found hypnotherapy reduced anxiety more than 84% of people in the control group, and those results got stronger over time instead of fading (Valentine & Milling, 2019).

The other thing people want to know before they try it: are you still in control? Yes. Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Baylor's Mind-Body Medicine Lab all confirm you stay awake, aware, and choosing to engage the whole time.

What's been harder for you: understanding your anxiety, or actually changing how you respond to it?

Genuine question for anyone who's dealt with anxiety long-term: do you feel like you understand WHY you're anxious, but still can't seem to change how you react in the moment?

Not looking for the textbook answer. Just curious if that's a common experience or if it's just what I hear from the people I work with.

Drop your experience below. I read every one.

There's a specific kind of frustration in knowing exactly why you procrastinate. And still not being able to stop.

You understand the avoidance. You've read about it, maybe talked about it with someone, maybe built systems to work around it. And the tab is still open from Tuesday.

Here's the thing most productivity conversations skip: understanding a habit and changing it are two separate events. The part of you that can explain the delay in full detail is not the same part that keeps running it.

Research backs up what most people already feel. A 2025 meta-analysis of more than 63,000 people found procrastination correlates moderately with anxiety, depression, and stress. A separate 2025 study found that emotion dysregulation (not poor planning) was the strongest predictor of procrastination tracked over a full semester.

The delay usually starts before the task itself. In the moment something becomes emotionally real, there's a small spike. Dread. The discomfort of putting something imperfect out into the world. Quiet pressure before there's anything to be pressured by. And then the bargaining: "I'll feel more ready after lunch."

Hypnosis works at that level, with the automatic response itself, not your explanations of it. The first change most people notice isn't more motivation. It's less drag.

Does this resonate? Where does the delay tend to show up most for you?

Perfectionism and procrastination are the same thing.

The person who checks everything seventeen times before sending it and the one who's had an unfinished project sitting there for months are running the same response — avoiding the judgment that comes with being found lacking.

Different behavior. Same driver.

That's why willpower doesn't fix it.
