We will cease trading at the end of this year as Carmen is retiring from massage therapy. The last trading day is 23/12/2026.

What is Trigger Point Therapy?

Have you ever had a spot in your muscle that feels especially tight or tender when you press on it?

That could be a trigger point.

Trigger points are areas within a muscle that can feel tight, sensitive or painful when pressure is applied.

Trigger Point Therapy uses focused pressure on these areas as part of a remedial massage treatment.

It may be useful for areas that feel:

✔ Tight or overworked
✔ Particularly tender
✔ Stiff or restricted
✔ Like they keep getting tight in the same spot

Sometimes, pressing a trigger point can even produce a familiar sensation somewhere else. This is one reason why the area that feels painful isn't always the area that needs the most attention.

The pressure doesn't need to be as hard as possible. The goal is to use appropriate pressure and work with your body's response.

At Entrusted Remedial Massage, Trigger Point Therapy can be incorporated into your treatment where appropriate, alongside other remedial massage techniques.
