Haunted / Historical Adventures and Investigations - all over Kansas and beyond! My name is Jason Roberts and I want to welcome you to Road Trip Paranormal!

We are a paranormal team based out of Wichita, Ks with over 18+ years experience in investigating hauntings, myths and lore. We have a unique team of friends that make up not only RTP and together we have gone all over Kansas, the surrounding states and coast to coast meeting new people, experiencing new adventures and finding answers to the questions about life after death. What we offer to the public is this:

• Private home investigations
• Business investigations
• Ghost tours – private and public
• Public speaking and events
• Road trips across Kansas and beyond! We are also associated with Kansas Bigfoot Research Society in which we help explore the legendary creature as well as other possible cryptids around us. New research expeditions are being mapped out across the state to find new evidence of the elusive creatures which have been spotted in Kansas many times over the decades. RTP has been helping with the Wichita Ghost Tour for the last 13 years and starting in August 2022 we kicked off our own Wichita Spooky Bus Tour! To keep ourselves available to the public, we can setup small paranormal investigations in the Delano District of Wichita at Salon 535 Perfect Touch where we team up with Lena Townsend of Peaceful Whisperers who does one on one readings. Lena also joins us for our large public events to offer readings for guests. Just contact RTP for any and all information. We have been seen on the news multiple times, in 3 books which are written by authors Marie D. Jones out of California, Cathy Ramirez of Ghost Tours of Kansas, and Brandon Callahan out of Missouri. We also have our own weekly podcast called Cryptic Heartland which is live on Facebook and YouTube on Sundays. So come out to one of our events or contact us and let's tell stories and investigate the unknown!

Paranormal history stories...

In 1973, two children on the Isle of Wight reportedly encountered something so strange that, more than 50 years later, no one has produced a fully satisfying explanation.

The creature became known as the Sandown Clown.

According to the account later recorded by paranormal researcher Norman Oliver, the children were near Sandown when they followed a strange siren-like noise and encountered a bizarre humanoid figure.

They described it as extremely tall, with a strange triangular or pointed head, unusual markings on its face, reddish hair and clothing unlike anything they recognised. Its movements were reportedly odd and mechanical.

Even stranger was what happened next.

The children claimed the figure communicated with them and led them towards a hut or shelter, where the encounter continued. The being supposedly identified itself with the peculiar name “Sam”.

Unlike many famous British paranormal cases, there was no crowd of witnesses and no photograph. The story depends heavily upon the testimony of two children, which is precisely what makes it so difficult to interpret.

Was it an eccentric local person wearing unusual clothing? A childhood misunderstanding that became increasingly elaborate? A deliberately invented story?

Or did two children genuinely encounter something they simply had no vocabulary to describe?

For anyone who lived on the Isle of Wight during the 1970s, local memories could be particularly interesting here.

If two children independently gave you this description in 1973, what ordinary explanation would you investigate first?

Appalachia is the oldest mountain range in the world. 1.2 billion years old. Older than Saturn’s rings. Older than sexually reproducing organisms. The rocks at their core formed when every continent was still one landmass. The mountains have been standing long enough to watch every species on earth arrive, evolve, and in most cases leave. The things living inside them have had more time to establish themselves than any other landscape on the planet. The folklore reflects it.

The locals have rules. Don’t whistle in the woods after dark. If you hear your name called from the trees and nobody is with you don’t respond. If you see something that looks like a deer but moves wrong keep walking. Don’t look at it. The rules aren’t superstition to the people who follow them. They’re survival instructions written by generations who lived close enough to the forest to learn what the forest does when it thinks nobody is watching.

The Not Deer is reported across multiple Appalachian states. A creature that resembles a deer but has forward-facing eyes, joints that bend the wrong direction, and a gait that looks like something learning to walk inside a body that wasn’t designed for it. Sightings are consistent enough that the cryptid has its own dedicated following.

The Brown Mountain Lights have been appearing over North Carolina for over 200 years. Glowing orbs hovering above the ridgeline. No explanation has survived peer review.

The Bell Witch haunted a Tennessee family from 1817 to 1821 so aggressively that Andrew Jackson reportedly visited and left saying he’d rather fight the British again.

People vanish in Appalachia at a rate the terrain partially explains and partially doesn’t. The forests are dense enough that search teams lose signal within hours. Some trails end where no trail should end. 08/30/2026
